Save the ocean.

Our most precious resource - sustaining native species and a means of life for billions for people.

For billions, the ocean is a way of life - it provides jobs, food, and protection. It plays a primary role in sustaining some of the most important ecological processes on our planet and ensures the well being of billions that depend on it.

  • Over 12 percent of the world's population earns their living from aquaculture.
  • 16 percent of global animal protein comes from the ocean
  • 61 percent of the world's GNP is generated in coastal areas  100 km from the ocean
  • More than 25 percent of global carbon is sequestered in mangroves and ocean habits

Healthy oceans mean healthy people in some of the world's poorest and most vulnerable communities. By increasing food and job security, oceans play a key role in our global economy. Saving our oceans is critical, and time is running out.

seaChange is dedicated to establishing aquaculture that is sustainable both to the workers and to the ecologies of our oceans.
